“To the future via libraries”

   On September 20-23, 2014 in the framework of the program “To the Future Via Libraries”, the 14th Sochi’s international library conference’s outgoing session took place in Armenian National library. The discussion topic of this conference was “New libraries for the modern youth”. As a report entitled “The involvement of the young people into the reading culture is the primary problem of libraries” was sent to Sochi beforehand by YCCL’ s director Hasmik Karapetian, who had the right to take part in the conference as well. On September 22, YCCL hosted the director of Krasnodar Regional Youth Library Lyudmila Filipovna, the director of Kamchatka Regional Scientific Library Lena Abrahamian, the head of Kemerovo Municipality’s department of Culture and Youth Olga Karasieva, the director of Novgorod State Regional Children's Library Natalia Bochkaryeva, the director of The National Library of Adygeya Bela Kikoeva, the director of Gelendjik City Central library Svetlana Serdyukova and others. After a small tour in YCCL, the libraries director Hasmik Karapetian told the guests about the youth programs offered by the library.
