On October 10 the City Central Isahakyan Library hosted Archimandrite Father Harutyun Pztikyan, the director of “Mkhitaryan” cultural center in Paris, with his public lecture on the topic “Armenian Cultural Life in the West”. During the event his painted collages were being exhibited. Father Pztikyan spoke about the challenges and specifics of organizing Armenian cultural life in diaspora, as well as about some fatal ups and downs of Armenian history. He stressed the important role the Armenian church and "Mkhitaryan" Congregation have played throughout Armenian history aimed at preservation of Armenian identity. This difficult task was achieved through the means of self-preserving faith and historical-educational activities. Devoted groups of scientists from Armenia and diaspora have contributed to the salvation of the most grueling national problems, strengthened the spirit of the nation with the means of the language, faith and the highest spiritual-cultural values. He emphasized the current strong bond between Armenia and Armenian diaspora, the due attention of the country towards the maintenance and development of spiritual, cultural-educational heritage for the sake of preservation and development of national identity. At the end of the event the director of the City Central Isahakyan library Hasmik Karapetyan expressed her deep gratitude towards Archimandrite Father Harutyun Pztikyan for his continues close collaborate with the library.
