Book Presentation


    On December 8, 2016 the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan held a presentation of the books “Stone Garden” and “Why Was the Sea Stormy?” by translator Emma Begidjanian. The book contains the translation of the works of great XX century Persian writers such as Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh, Sadegh Hedayat, Sadeq Chubak, Jalal Al-e Ahmad, Mohammad Hejazi, Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi, Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, Houshang Golshiri and others.
According to the writer, the president of the Armenian Writers’ Union Edward Militonian the Iranian and Armenian poetic minds have many similarities. PhD of Philological Sciences Satenik Avetissian, freedom-fighter, writer, public speaker and also the editor of the book Hovik Vardumian, writer, translator, public speaker Levon Blbulian, Seda Davdian, the Karen Demirchian House-Museum director Karine Rafaelian and others spoke about the translations of Emma Begidjanian and contemporary Iranian literature.
The closing speech was made by Emma Begidjanian, who mentioned that she has also done translations from Armenian into Persian.
The host of the day was actress Gayane Samvelyan who read some extracts from the books during the event.
