The presentation of Vrej Sarukhanyan’s book “Taronakanch”


    Vrej Sarukhanyan is a writer, journalist and social worker. "Taronakanch" is the thematic and ideological continuation of Vrezh Sarukhanyan's previous book, "Ergrakanch". On October 19, was the presentation of the collection "Taronakanch" in the City Central Library after A. Isahakyan. Many literary critics, readers, musicians, TV journalists and representatives of several TV channels and weekly newspapers were present.
The collection "Taronakanch" was the result of the Armenian fate. The heroes of "Taronakanch" are the soldiers and refugees of old and new fights. Many of them became “nation’s enemy” during Soviet era and were even sent to Siberia.
Even in the hardest situations they did not lose their dignity, human values, a sense of hope and faith cherishing revenge.
The event started with the screening of the movie “Ergir”. The performance of folk song and dance ensemble “Taronciner” impressed the audience.
Honored worker of the culture of RA and the director of the City Central Library after A. Isahakyan Hasmik Karapetyan mentioned in her speech: “The paradise was in Taron land, several generations keep on longing for “Taronakanch” and “Erkrakanch”… Many people came up with speeches, among them the president of Writers Union of Armenia Edward Militonian, historian, doctor of History, Professor Erik Minasyan, writer and publicist Roland Sharoyan, writer and publicist Andranik Avetisyan, writer and publicist David Sargsyan, journalist Arpine Movsisyan, writer and journalist Hovhannes Saroyan and Anahit Danielyan.
Singer, song-writer, Honored artist of RA Nersik Ispiryan, Honored Worker of RA Ramzar Sasuntci and song-writer, Honored Worker of RA and minstrel Haykazun greeted the audience with their songs.
The president of patriotic, charitable organization “Vahagn” Karo Karapetyan congratulated the author and awarded him with “Vahagn” golden medal. He noted in his speech: “Vrej is my friend in respect of ideas…”
The audience enjoyed extracts from the collection “Taronakanch” by actress and chair of this event Gayane Samvelyan.
As a conclusion the author said: “My heroes are not fictional, they are actual people…”
