Children's Exhibition and Competition


    On July 9, 2016 the Yerevan City Central Library was pleased to welcome the guests and participants of the exhibition-competition "Armenian Military Leaders: Vazgen Sargsyan". The event was organized by the "Armenian Miniature Centre" in association with its general partner YCCL. The aim of the exhibition was to educate sense of color, shade and art and to raise their patriotic spirit by acquainting them with the values of Armenian Military culture. The finalists of the competition were the authors of best colorings from the "Mher Junior" military school, from Nur artistic school of Malatia-Sebastia Community and from artistic school №2 after Sargis Barkhudarian. The celebration started with the Lord's Prayer read by the little angles of Nur artistic school. It was followed by patriotic performance of students from "Mher Junior" military school devoted to Vazgen Sargsyan. The student of Nur artistic school Arthur Adamyan performed a musical number by reedpipe. Hripsime' Danielian from the same school performed a dance number "Kharabakhi Nakhshoon Baji" (Beautiful woman from Karabakh). Anahit Babakhanyan and Zaruhi Arzumanian, students from school №2 after Sargis Barkhudarian, recited poems devoted to the heroes of Artsakh War. The results of the competition were ready. The Deputy Director of the Yerevan City Central Library Karine' Mehrabian announced the winners of the competition: Gagik Avagyan, Volodia Avetisian, Tovmas Vardanyan, Emil Grigorian, David Haroyan, Vache' Gevorgian, Sargis Simonian, Zenik Markosyan. They were presented with books "Avetik Isahakian" from the series of book "Armenian Classics". Then Mrs. Mehrabian thanked all the schools for their participation and granted them with Certificates of Appreciation. A speech was made by Gayane Manoukian, the Deputy Director of "Mher Juniour" military school. In her own words, she was gratified to have a part in such a beautiful event and hoped for it to run and to continue growing for long after. Later, after having a "tour" in the library the guests said their farewells but promised to visit the library soon again.
