Exhibition at “Mher Junior” Military School


    On May 13, 2016 Armenian Miniatures Center, in association with its general partner Yerevan City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan and “Mher Junior” Military School organized an exhibition of coloring drawings devoted to Armenian military leader Vazgen Sargsyan. The presented colorings were by school students Volodia Avetisian, Edgar Tovmasian, Sargis Simonyan, Gagik Avagyan, Rafael Poghosian, Rudik Gulanyan, Gaspar Karapetian, Artur Samvelyan, Sergei Sahakyan, Emil Grigoryan, Zaven Ghazarov, Levon Kocharian, Ruslan Manasyan, David Khachatryan, David Haroyan, Rafael Mezhlumyan, Zaven Sargsyan, Eric Harutiunyan, Vahe' Gevorgian, Tovmas Vardanyan, Zenik Markosian, Robert Khachatryan, Valeri Hakobian, Aram Melkonian, Armenak Sargsyan, Gor Melkonian, Hrach Shtoyan and Liova Jorjevich. Their works were selected by “Mher Junior” Military School librarian Parandzem Margaryan and the coordinator of PR and event planning department of YCCL after Av. Isahakyan Marine' Khazarian. The exhibition was aimed to bring the children closer to Armenian military art and to raise their patriotic spirit. The program will be continued and such exhibitions will be organized in other cities and towns of RA and NGR. The exhibition was followed by a patriotic , memorial matinee. The guests of the event were the head of Nubarashen administrative district Arsen Harutiunyan, Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) leader, commander of Van operation Vazgen Sislyan, Secretary of the Staff of Nubarashen administrative district Goharik Voskanian, Nubarashen administrative district school headmasters, writer Liparit Sargsyan, writer, freedom fighter Hovik Vardumian, reciter Anna Kostanian, the stuff of YCCL PR and event planning department and others. The opening speech was made by the head of Armenian Miniatures Center Foundation Gagik Hakobian. He thanked the “Mher Junior” Military School's Nubarashen brunch acting headmaster Captain Vahe' Harutiunian for the support. In his speech he said:"Vazgen Sargsyan is a unique figure in Armenian history. He managed to stand strong and lead the national revolt against the enemy in very tough time. His activities which were aimed to create strong military force and, to support his motherland, as well as his power and selflessness, made him a perfect role model for generation-to-come. The events of April highlighted once again the important role of solders, proving that their are the equals of their predecessors and they are ready to continue the job of their parents." A speech made by writer Liparit Sargsyan, who stated that Vazgen Sargsyan was an inborn writer, but life and the fate of the country made him choose another path. It is due to this choice that today we know him as a commander and founder of Armenian Military Forces. Mr. Sargsyan read his poem devoted to the four-day war of April. "This poem is devoted to young soldiers and celebrates their heroic acts in the frontier. They proved that in any given moment they can turn into real heroes and show the enemy that our land has always given birth to heroes and will always continue to do so." A number of military songs and dances were performed by little Armenian soldiers of the school, who managed to touch the audience and aspire sense of pride. In the end words of gratitude were expressed by Hovik Vardumian, who presented the school with some of his books. Another speech was made by Vazgen Sislyan, who was sure that the soldiers of today and tomorrow will win back the Armenian lands of Eastern Armenia. The closing speech was made by Vahe' Harutiunian who thanked the organizers Kristine' Malkhasian and Parandzem Margaryan as well as the participating little soldiers. He assured everyone that during those 4 days of war each and every student of school was ready to go to the frontier and to stand beside their fathers. "I'm so proud of our little soldiers, our heroes and Vazgen Sargsyan... . I'm proud to be the representative of the same nation as they are. I'm proud to be Armenian"!
