“Awakening of the Soul”: Book Presentation

    On September 19, 2015 the YCCL held a meeting with painter Nara Aharonyan and the presentation of the book “Awakening of the Soul” illustrated by the painter. The guests of the event were many artists, cultural workers and readers. The host of the event was reciter Anna Kostanian, who, with the help of some beautiful poems, filled the hearts of the audience members with warmth and excitement. The editor of the book “Awakening of the Soul”, writer Hovhannes Shant presented the book to the audience and said that this book was like a spiritual temple which was built with the help of each of the thirty writers who are: Souren Grigor, Armen Alaverdian, Anne' Mary, Anahit Tigranian, Arsen Hambarian, Anahit Sahakian, Gourgen Mikaelian, Gayane' Mkrtchian, Gohar Garoon, Gourgen Miskarian, Davis Vanian, Ishkhan Badalian, Lea Torosian, Hasmik Sarmarichai, Hakob Poghosian, Hasmik Varosyan, Mary Arakelian, Mira Roubents, Marine' Badalian, MArine' Saroukhanian, Maro Yerknapeshian , Narine Balasbekian, Narine Avagian, Nelly Romel, Sedrak Yerkanian, Souren Davtian, Venera Vardoumian, Roza Khastian, Tatev Voskanian. “This book is born from the love of each of us”- stated Mr. Shant. He thanked the art council members Souren Grigor and Gohar Garoon as well as the illustrator of the book Nara Aharonian, who had showed an individual approach to each writer and due to her unique understanding and feeling of the poems had managed to create a symphony of picture and writing.
During the event musical numbers were presented by singer-songwriter Anahit Haroutunian, student of the musical school after Alexander Atchemian Hayk Kostandian and student of the Cultural University Vache' Movsisyan. Students from different schools presented an extract from each author's work publish in the book. The guests were honored to listen to wonderful piano number, presented by one of the authors, Honorary Worker of Culture of RA, laureate of Transcaucasian and all-Union festivals, leading pianist-soloist Sedrak Yerkanian.
At the end of the event Mr. Shant presented the audience, performers and the library with the book.
