Theatrical Performance of “The Unsilenceable Belfry” by Paruyr Sevak

It has been 100 years since the violent events of Armenian Genocide, which had left their indelible trace in the hearts and souls of each Armenian. But during these years the pain has transformed into vengeance, into cries and demands of justice. Today, on June 19, 2015 a group of young Armenians were gathered on the adjacent platform of the YCCL. These future actors from actress Arsine’ Navasardyan’s Theatrical Troup Shahen Hakhverdyan, Mariam Zakharyan, Vahan Alaverdyan, Tagouhi Alaverdyan, Arsen Badalyan, Levon Tashchian, Vardges Ghazaryan and Tigran Mouradian performed the poem “The Unsilenceable Belfry” by Paruyr Sevak directed by Arsine’ Navasardyan. The young actors managed to capture the attention of many passers-by due to Sevak’s timeless work and their emotional performance. It should also be mentioned that this performance was first presented two days ago at the YCCL and the success of the debut made the director of the YCCL Hasmik Karapetyan offer them to repeat it for larger group of spectators.
