June 1 At The YCCL


    On June 1, 2015 the guests of the YCCL were our little friend-readers, who were in the library to take part in the different event organized for them as a present on International Children’s Rights Day. The day started with the exhibition of books under the headlines “I’m Citizen of Armenian Republic”, “My Favorite Book”, “Children's Planet”, “My World of Fairy-Tales”, and with small tours in the library. It was quite busy in the Children's Literature Department, where, in the framework of the program “Revitalizing Armenian National games”, children were thought and played national games. That day, among many guests were also students of the Gavar orphanage, who, alongside with other little readers, took part in the competition of chalk drawings. The winners of this competition were presented with books from the library. The day of many surprises wasn't over, so the children were leaded the auditorium hall of the library, were they had a meeting with writer Liparit Sargsyan, who read some of his poems for them. Poet, writer, the editor of “The 9th Wave” weekly Vachagan Sargsyan played riddles game with the children and presented the winners with new number of “The 9th Wave” weekly. Cheery music and songs were provided by Zaruhi Babayan Song Studio and Karine’ Galyan’s Song Studio “Lapterikner”. They received acknowledgement for their input from the YCCL. At the end of this memorable day Swiss-Armenian Charity Foundation “Nunios” handed over books, journals, juice and ice-cream.
