Lecture on “Great Patriotic War in Armenian Cinematography”


    On May 13, 2015 in the framework of the program a lecture “Great Patriotic War in Armenian Cinematography” was given by movie critic, writer, translator, Honorary Worker of Culture of Armenian Republic Sergey Galstyan. 5 films by Armenian directors about Great Patriotic War were chosen by Mr. Galstian: “Qocharie”, “Born To Live”, “Hello, It's Me”, “The Last Shot”, “The Song of Old Days”. The first film is documental. It has captured the historical moment when Armenian soldiers, who had won the Great Patriotic War, dance Armenian national dance Qochary in Berlin, in front of Reichstag. When talking about other 4 movies Sergey Galstian mentioned that each of them represents the war in its own way. The directors have mainly tried to show the impact of the war on the lives of ordinary people. The audience was offered to watch some extracts from these movies, which made the lecture more impressive. At the end the critic answered to the questions of the audience.
