Our guests are students from school 89

On May 18, 2016 the guests of the YCCL were the student of school 89 after Daniel Varujan with their supervising teacher Mariam Khachatryan. The children were acquainted with the departments of the library and their work. In American Corner they were shown the 3D printer and 3D pen and learnt how these equipments work. Then they were lead to the garden of the library and where pleased to see other children and adults reading books or working on their laptops. Their final destination was the Children’s department of the library, where they were shown the funds of the books. Some of them decided to get registered so they could read all the books offered by the department. Here a number of surprises were prepared for them. The head of the department Armine’ Petrosyan told them about director, animator Gayane’ Martirosian and offered them to watch the animated movie “Dragon’s Rug”. Next the head of the PR and event planning department Marine’ Khazarian told them about her new cultural project “Revitalizing Armenian National Games” and offered them to play “revitalized” games “Hamrakhakh” (a game played with gestures and body language) and “Hanelukakhakh” (“Riddle Game”). During this last one, the children were offered to solve some riddles by writer Liparit Sargsyan. They got more excited when they were told that the writer was in the room the whole time and was watching them play. After the game Mrs Khazarian gave them a task: to ask their parents and grandparents about the games they’d played as a child, write it down and send to the library. The best ones will be publish in children’s newspaper. After this wonderful day the children were reluctant to leave the library.
