Event dedicated to Armenian-Serbian friendship


    In cooperation with the Central Library after Avetik Isahakyan and Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Armenia, an event was organized in the hall of the Isahakyan Library.
The event was opened by actress Gayane Samvelyan. She mentioned that this concert-event is organized within the framework of the events of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia.
Ruzanna Barseghyan the Deputy Director for Science at the Central Library after Avetik Isahakyan, greeted the guests and expressed conviction that the Armenian-Serbian cultural relations would expand in the near future. On the eve of the Book Donation Day, the Deputy Director of the Library presented a book to the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Tatjana Panajotov as a symbol of love for the Serbian people. Poet, translator, Honored Cultural Worker, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Armenia Babken Simonyan emphasized in his speech the strong influential role of culture, translation, particularly poetry and music in the friendship of the Armenian-Serbian peoples with a similar historical destiny.
The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Armenia Tatiana Panajotovich Tsvetkovich presented the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Armenia, the prospects of developing political cooperation between the two countries The Honorable Consul of the Republic of Serbia Babken Simonyan in the literary, cultural and diplomatic relations. Corresponding member of the RA National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology, Professor Aelita Dolukhanyan spoke about the traditional literary-translation culture between the two peoples, the contribution of the great Armenians, Hovh. Tumanyan, and our modern devotee Babken Simonyan.
Historian, Armenologist Gorg Yazichyan praised Babken Simonyan for his effective activity and assumed a certain charitable obligation in the process of developing Armenian-Serbian translation literature. Serbian lyrical songs were played during the event. Gayane Samvelyan read excerpts from Serbian contemporary poetry, samples from Babken Simonyan's poems.
The speaker of the event was Babken Simonyan.
At the end of the event, he thanked the organizers and participants of the event and recited Charents "Of my motherland Armenia" in Serbian with his translation.
