In the framework of the 42nd anniversary of the victorious " Ten days of Down" (Daheye Fajr) dedicated to the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with the "City Central Library after A. Isahakyan" organized Fariba Wafi's "My Bird", "Even When We Laugh" and Farhad Hasanzadeh's "Ziba! Call Me" books presentation.
In her opening remarks, Hasmik Karapetyan, the director of the "City Central Library after A. Isahakyan, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Armenia, congratulated the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and emphasized the importance of Armenian-Iranian literary and cultural relations between the two nations. Mrs. Karapetyan touched upon the similarities of the description of the cultural and national traditions of the Armenian-Iranian nations with cultural heritage. She expressed readiness to further expand the borders of literary and cultural cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia in the near future.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Iranian Islamic Republic to the Republic of Armenia, Abbas Zohuri, in his word of gratitude noticed that the literature is a reliable bridge for building more effective relations between the two countries. He assured that new Armenian-Iranian cultural-civilizational projects will be launched in the near future.
In his congratulatory speech Seyed Hossein Tabatabai the Cultural Adviser of the Cultural Center of the Iranian Islamic Republic to the Republic of Armenia, expressed confidence that Armenian-Iranian classical and modern literary-cultural cooperation is possible and will make great progress in the near future.
During their speeches the literary critic, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Serzh Srapionyan, linguist, Chairman of the Language Committee of the RA Ministry of Education and Science David Gyurjinyan, poet, painter, President of the Writers' Union of Armenia, Honored Cultural Worker of Armenia Edward Militonyan, poet, painter, translator, "Armenian Culture" President Arevshat Avagyan, Editor-in-Chief of "Aghbyur" Children and Youth Magazine, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Tados Tonoyan, Director of the Institute of Archeology of the Armenian-Russian University, Archaeologist, Iranian Studies, Doctor of Philology, Professor Garnik Asatryan, Literary Specialist Director of the Abeghyan Institute of Literature Vardan Devrikyan, translator Gevorg Asatryan spoke about the current achievements of the Armenian-Iranian literary-cultural cooperation and future comprehensive projects. Actresses Aida Asaturyan and Mariam Hakobyan's readings, the videos shown conveyed to the Armenian audience the artistic breath of modern Iranian literature and the humanitarian content.
At the end of the event, the representatives of the Embassy of The Iranian Islamic Republic to the Republic of Armenia donated samples of modern Iranian literature to the library.
