The art of translation has long had the mission of interchangeably enriching the culture of various nations. This was the main message of the meeting with Mavala Gonashvili, Georgian writer, co-president of Writer’s Union in Georgia. The event took place on October 14, at the City Central Isahakyan library. The meeting was organized in the frame of the international literary festival “Celebration of Translation” in cooperation with Writer Union in Armenia. Speeches were made by the president of Writer’s Union Edward Militonyan, professor Avik Isahakyan, writer, editor Samvel Margaryan, translator GagikDavtyan, writer Baghater Arabulin, vice president of “Iveria” Georgian community Nino Spendiarashvilin. Some of Mavala Gonashvili’s writing were read by actresses Silva Yuzbashyan and Gayane Samvelyan. The closing speech of the event was made by the director of the library, honorary worker of culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Karapetyan, who expressed her appreciation to Mavala Gonashvili for contributing to the strengthening of cultural bridges between Armenia and Georgia.
