On October 5, the events dedicated to the Librarian's Day kicked off with paying tribute to the memory of the renowned French-Armenian singer, composer, writer, actor, public figure, chansonnier Charles Aznavour. An exhibition entitled ''The librarians create'' was organized in the library hall presenting the works of the employees of the 'City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan. Actress Gayane Samvelyan congratulated the librarians on the professional holiday. ''Each of you is the part of our library's history,'' Director of the'City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan, honored cultural worker of Armenia Hasmik Karapetyan addressed to the friends of the library. Mrs Karapetyan handed over certidicates of appreciation to the friends of the library for contribution to replenishment of the library's book fund. The winners of the game-competition of ''The Best Librarian of the Year'' received diplomas, and the other participants – certificates. President of the Police Veterans' Council of Yerevan City Central District Gagik Vardanyan congratulated all the librarians on the professional holiday and donated literature. President of the Veterans' Council of Police of Yerevan Gegham Ohanyan awarded Hasmik Karapetyan, the Director of the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan, with the order “Courageous Mother of Knights for the Defense of the Homeland''. A video devoted to the world libraries was shown in the library foyer during the entire day. A book action entitled ''Library's donation'' was organized as well. The readers and the visitors received as a present both classical and modern literature. And at the end of the festive day there was one more surprise: the employees received gifts from the directorate.
