On March 2nd City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan hosted US Ambassador to Armenia Richard M. Mills, Jr. This day is celebrated as the national day of reading in the U.S., and in the children's section of the library the ambassador and his wife read Doctor Seuss’ story "Cat in the Hat" to the children. Afterwards Ambassador Mills was awarded "Avetik Isahakyan" medal and a certificate for his significant contribution to the library. Within the framework of "Art in Libraries" project Armenian artist Sha-Ga’s (Gagik Shahinyan) painting was donated to the library by Tom and Lynn Sloan.
