On July 23, at the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan took place a journalist, independent researcher, Arabic scholar TIGRAN EKAVYAN's book's presentation entitled "MINORITIES OF THE EAST: CONSIGNED TO OBLIVION BY HISTORY".The ceremony was conducted by historian Gevorg Yazichyan.He noted that the book is a scientific research on the problems of the native Christians of the Middle East, Yezidis, and the indifference of the West towards them.
Speaker, Candidate of Historical Sciences Araks Pashayan, translator Grigor Janikyan, Iranian scholar, archaeologist, translator Emma Begijanyan and Artsvi Bakhchinyan described the book with analytical and documentary references as a unique event.During her speech the director of the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Karapetyan emphasized the undeniable role of the book in the process of educating the thousands of young readers of the library. Hasmik Karapetyan presented her deep conviction that the book will really help to examine our national historical development more soberly.She expressed his warm readiness for the urgent publicization of the book. Summing up the meeting, Tigran Ekavyan emphasized the dedication and mission of every Armenian in the preservation and defense of the Armenian Statehood.
