My whole life library has been my second home, but abroad-especially in Venice-my first one. The fact that the        first public library in the city was named after me, makes me very happy. I have always thought of a book as        something sacred and library to me is a unique sanctuary. I will do my best so that there is always the air of        literature of many centuries present in your wonderful library. I wish your library a long and a good way, let it be        as eternal as the eternity of a book.
